Night show at the Hungarian stud farm Szilvásvárad

On August 16, 2025, the Topoľčianky National Stud became part of a spectacular gala program of a night show at the Hungarian Szilvásvárad Stud. The main theme was the historical development of the Lipizzaner breed from its beginnings to the present day.

The Lipizzaner – a horse primarily bred for harness purposes – was historically used mainly for transportation. Nobility would harness them to elegant carriages for travel, whether over long or short distances. Today, the Lipizzaner is widely used in harness sports, primarily for its speed, agility, and soundness. Due to its elegance, rhythmic gaits, and natural ability to collect, it has also found use in dressage. Thanks to its excellent temperament, it is also suitable as a recreational companion for nature rides.

The Topoľčianky National Stud presented this oldest European horse breed through two pairs of horses in harness. One symbolized the elegant means of transportation used by the nobility, and the other depicted the sporting use in a harness marathon.
