The National Stud Farm's event calendar is once again packed with breeding, sporting, and social events.

At the end of March, we will welcome breeders and horse enthusiasts to the Breeders' Seminar, combined with the presentation of stallions for the new breeding season. Other breeding events will continue throughout the year with traditional evaluations of breeding and performance tests in spring and autumn.

Even though the tourist season doesn't start until May, the National Stud Farm will open its doors during the Easter Holidays with Family Trips. Perhaps the most well-known day at the stud farm is the Traditional Open Day on May 1st. This year is the 26th anniversary. A rich program will be prepared for visitors, including demonstrations of equestrian disciplines, tours of the riding hall, carriage rides pulled by the royal Lipizzaner breed, and much more. The highlight of the event will certainly be the festive Gala Program, which is eagerly anticipated not only by the youngest visitors but also by adults. In the Gala Program, horses and riders from the National Stud Farm will perform alongside invited guests. Each demonstration showcases the versatility of the horses and their important role in society. For the impatient, the doors open a day earlier with the Dress Rehearsal of the Open Day. We believe that once again, our expectations for attendance will be exceeded.

Visitors can look forward to tours of the historic riding hall from the Habsburg era with the official opening of the tourist season, which are also guided on weekdays. In addition to stable tours, our horses of five breeds are also eager to meet you. Likely still the main attraction is probably the most famous horse in Slovakia, Maestoso XIV Timrava of the Lipizzaner breed, who was symbolically gifted to Queen Elizabeth II and is grateful for each of his admirers.

The National Stud is unique also because of its multifunctionality, as it organizes competitions in several equestrian disciplines. Sporting events at the National Stud will open in May with the most attractive equestrian discipline for spectators, which is showjumping. Fans of horse racing will enjoy the summer races at the Topoľčinky Hippodrome. On two terms, spectators will have the opportunity to watch another equestrian discipline, dressage, which showcases the elegance and harmony between rider and horse. The end of August will be dedicated to vaulting competitions, which are popular even among the youngest participants.

The third Saturday of October traditionally belongs to the Hubert’s Ride, which marks the end of the riding season. The second edition of the Christmas Concert in the beautiful setting of the historic riding hall can be enjoyed by visitors on December 5. The last of the planned events is the arrival of St. Nicholas at the National Stud, again with a new and interesting story.

All information for visitors about the events can be found on our official website and Facebook page.

We look forward to your visit!
