The Selection Committee for Horse Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as "MPRV SR") on 15.05.-16.05.2024 carried out a spring assessment of horses in NŽ "Topoľčianky" s.p.
8 Lipizzan breeding stallions, 45 breeding Lipizzan mares, 6 shagya - Arabian breeind stallions, 38 breeding Shagya - Arabian mares, 6 breeding stallions of the Hucul horse breed, 32 breeding mares of the Hucul horse breed, 2 breeding stallions were inspected in the breeding of the Slovak warmblood breed, 25 Slovak warmblood breeding mares, 3 English thoroughbred mares, 2 Arabian thoroughbred breeding stallions, 5 Arabian thoroughbred mares, young horses of all breeds up to 3 years old, 39 horses in training, 34 sports horses and 7 racing horses owned by NŽ "Topoľčianky" s.p.
The commission positively evaluated the readiness of all objects and horses for the spring assessment. All breeding objects and the surrounding environment were decently prepared. The commission positively evaluates the good condition, nutrition and health status of the horses, as well as corrections, hoof trimming and the overall appearance of the horses being shown, as well as the current state of reproductive indicators and birth rates in all herds.
The Commission positively evaluated the inclusion of the breeding stallion Arrivederci and his loan for the National Stud in view of its sporting performance.
The commission also positively evaluated the inclusion of two new breeding stallions 121 Shagya XXXVII (Zahír) – import Hungary and the purchase of stallion 124 Shagya XXXVIII (Shaman) – import Italy.
The Commission positively assessed the expansion of Lipizzan mares from the Europa family - by import from the Piber State Stud (Austria), as well as the purchase of thoroughbred Arabian mares from the Marbach stud (Germany) and their high-quality offspring.
The commission also awarded reconstruction work on individual breeding facilities (repair of roofs, facades and demonstration areas). Employees of NŽ "Topoľčianky" s.p. they ensured the course of the spring credit rating at a high level.
The commission highlights the correct organization of the employees and the professional presentation of the horses, as well as the cleanliness and order in all breeding facilities.
The commission expressed satisfaction with the submitted complete bonification records, which include the current body measurements, the current state of reproduction, the proposal of horses for the class list (e.g. sale), respectively. proposal of horses for breeding training.
During the assessment, a pre-selection of stallions and young mares for breeding training took place. During the assessment, horses were proposed for class list and castration.
