Race Day in Topoľčianky

On July 21, 2024, popular horse races were held again in Topoľčianky. It was the eleventh horse race day in Slovakia this year and the second in Topoľčianky. The pleasant summer weather attracted more than 2,000 fans of this adrenaline-fueled equestrian discipline.

Seven races were held on this Sunday afternoon. The first was the Ravena s.r.o. Topoľčianky Prize. It was a flat race of the V. category at 1250 m for 3-year-old and older horses with a total prize money of €1,600. The winner was Cansas King from the Vimar stable in the saddle with Ferdinand Kráner under the guidance of the local trainer Ing. Samuel Sokol.

The second race of the afternoon – the Vinárske závody Topoľčianky, s.r.o. Prize with a grant of €2635 - was a race for 3-year-old and older horses at 2200 m. There were 4 horses in the starting field and the best of them was Blondie from the DS Joki-Ilíková stable in the saddle with Marcelo Novák Jr.

The DVT s.r.o. Prize followed with a total grant of €2100. It was a flat IV. category at 1600 m for 3-year-old and older horses. Among the 6 horses, the winner was Paolo Cinella from the Kovometal stable with am. Klára Brišková in the saddle under the leadership of Ing. Zuzana Kubovičová.

The fourth race was the Agrokomplex National Exhibition Centre State Enterprise Nitra Prize at 1780 m for 3-year-old and older horses with a total grant of €1300. 7 horses competed in this race. In the finish line, after a tough fight, Lucas from the Veve Racing stable won with am. Nikola Miklova in front of the home team Ferrara with Ferdinand Kráner in the saddle under the guidance of trainer Ing. Samuel Sokol.

The wicker obstacles at 3400 m for 4-year-old and older horses were run as the fifth in a row. The Danfoss, spol. s.r.o. Prize had a total grant of €2800. Five horses competed for the title of winner. The first prize was won by Celestine from the Micheale – Hruboš stable in the saddle with Marcelo Novák Jr.

At 16.30 the Lesy Slovenskej republiky Prize, a state enterprise, organizational unit of OZ Tríbeč Topoľčianky, started. The total grant was €3800. The race was intended for 3-year-old and older horses. It was a flat II. category at 1700 m. The winner was Kimchi from the KT Obal stable with jr. Jaroslav Línek in the saddle.

The last race of the day was the Great Topoľčianska Steeplechase – Jaroslav Bartoněk Memorial. The 4100 m steeplechase was open to 5-year-old and older horses with a prize of €4500. The championship was won by the gelding Lad In from the stable Rovina a.s. Hulín with jr. Lukáš Matuský in the saddle.

That was the end of the second and last racing day in Topoľčianky this year. We are already looking forward to the next season...
