VISIT OF SCIENTISTS FROM THREE CONTINENTS AT THE NATIONAL STUD FARM

On September 25, 2025, based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Stud Farm and the Slovak University of Agriculture, which was signed on March 11, 2025, participants of the 33rd edition of the international symposium Animal Science Days (ASD 2025) visited the National Stud Farm.

The symposium was held under the organizational auspices of the Institute of Nutrition and Genomics of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Resources at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. The main theme of the symposium was 'Innovation, Sustainability, and Collaboration in Animal Sciences: Empowering the New Generation of Researchers.' Participants presented their work in the fields of animal genetics and genomics, animal husbandry, welfare and health, animal nutrition, animal production systems, and sustainable production and utilization of animal-derived food resources. The program included plenary lectures, presentations, and poster sessions by young scientists and renowned experts from 14 countries across 3 continents, a professional excursion to the National Stud Farm in Topoľčianky featuring a Lipizzaner performance and demonstrations of the breeds bred at the stud farm, as well as a course focused on working with sequencing data.

The event also included the participation of young researchers from the COST Action EU-LI-PHE project. The Animal Science Days consortium is annually a platform for academics and professionals, especially from the Central and Eastern Europe region, aimed at knowledge exchange and strengthening cooperation in the field of animal sciences. As in previous years, this edition was organized in cooperation with 9 partner universities from Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, and Slovenia, and took place under the patronage of the European Federation for Animal Science (EAAP). More about the conference can be found on the official website https://www.asd2025.uniag.sk as well as on Facebook.
