CHILLI – winner of the KMK 6-year-old horses in show jumping 2025

Also this year, the Union of Horse Breeders in Slovakia (ZCHKS), as a recognized breeding organization that maintains the Studbook of the Slovak Warmblood, conducted a higher form of testing for 4–6-year-old horses through the Young Horse Criteria (KMK) competitions.

The Young Horse Criteria competition (for 4–6-year-olds) is held annually in a series format through qualification rounds, of which there were seven this year. The final takes the form of a two-round competition, in which a pair that has participated in at least two qualification rounds qualifies.

The final regularly takes place at the CEDOS Nozdrkovce equestrian center, Trenčín district, and this year was no exception. The winner of the 6-year-old horse category (jumping at 130 cm level) was the mare CHILLI, bred and owned by the National Stud Topoľčianky, ridden by the experienced rider and trainer Igor Šulek.

Chilli is a mare from the excellent Oldenburg stallion Lord Weingard (Lordanos – Landadel), who himself is proven in sport, and his offspring are also successful athletes. Lord Weingard, after many victories and placements in young horse show jumping competitions, very quickly rose to the highest international level. With Jan Sprehe in the saddle, he was collecting awards at three-star 'T' level show jumping competitions as early as 2010, for example in Offenburg, Saint Lô, Neumünster, Zuidlaren, and Gera. Many of his offspring have reached the 'T' level. Internationally, the most successful was the mare Lady Luise with rider Hans-Thorben Rüdem and Luka in the saddle with Dominik Schäfers. Lord Beckham is also worth mentioning as the winner of the Mecklenburg Körung in 2010.

The dam's sire, Caesar van de Helle, is a Holsteiner stallion by Cantus – Landlord. He was notable for his carefulness over jumps and potential for higher-level show jumping. He received many awards at the 140 cm level with rider Henk Van Der Broek.
