Breeders' Seminar in Topoľčianky

Breeders' Seminar in Topoľčianky

On March 28, 2026, the Breeding Seminar was once again held at the National Stud. By its focus, it is primarily dedicated to breeders, but all horse and equestrian sport enthusiasts can participate. This year, the meeting room of the National Stud was filled to the last chair. More than forty attendees supported the event with their presence.

After a short speech by the director of the National Stud Farm, Ing. Samuel Sokol, two lectures were given by MVDr. Martina Jurčenková, CERP on very interesting and always current topics. In the first part of the seminar, it was "Birth and care of the mother and the newborn foal." The head of the Insemination and Reproduction Center of the National Stud Farm, Ing. Marcela Kubíková, also shared her extensive experience in this area with the attendees. In the second part, we focused on the horse's teeth and the importance of their regular maintenance. After a short discussion, the participants moved to the covered hall of the historic riding school, where they could watch the presentation of 13 breeding stallions of 5 breeds kept at the National Stud Farm Topoľčianky. Among them, two new additions for the breeding of the Slovak Warmblood were also introduced: the Holsteiner show-jumping stallion Dubliner and the Hannoverian dressage stallion Demetrius.

We sincerely thank everyone who supported the event by attending and wish you lots of breeding and sporting success in the new season.
